Text Box: Welcome to BrokenSpecial.com! About the music: I have been playing and writing for a few years now. It all started one day when I was watching a “Making of” documentary by my favorite band MUSE. It just clicked all the sudden that playing guitar seemed like something I needed to do. Now I play guitar and piano and create synths to go with my music. I am either listening to music, thinking about music, or playing music. I have a full time orchestra in my head, and wouldn’t want it any other way. I grew up on a healthy diet of Pink Floyd, Genesis, The Police, and Pearl Jam. Bands I listen to that inspire me now are Muse, Radiohead, Coldplay, Devotchka, Modest Mouse, just to name a few. Classical music is very important to me as well, “Requiem” by Mozart being my current favorite. In the beginning my songs were simple and guitar based with lyrics that spoke about things I had experienced or my favorite subject “Unrequited Love”. While I still write my share of songs on that subject I have also done my best to write songs that might bring attention to subjects that concern me. A few examples: “Empty Oceans” was inspired by a novel of the same name written by Richard Ellis. “hide Gold lens” was inspired from an article on Shenzhen China. “Monsanto’s Lullaby” was written about a documentary called Unnatural Selection. My goals for my musical journey are quite simple, just to make beautiful music that comes from my heart, that inspires or evokes emotions from others, to someday write a song that captures everything I feel and care about.
